SSCMS is selective in its admission which is based entirely on merit. To ensure an effective student-mentor ratio SSCMS  selects a maximum of only 30 students per year. This ensures a high quality of attention, training and in turn placements with the best organizations in the industry.

The key requirements for an applicant are:

Language Skills
SSCMS students are expected to have clarity in thought and articulation. A reasonable command of English is required. Additionally knowledge of an Indian language would be considered a plus.

Education
Graduates in any discipline and students awaiting their degree examination results are eligible to apply for admission to SSCMS. Enrolled students should provide their degree certificates to within the first week of the commencement of the lectures. Applicants expecting their final year results may apply. Their admission will be provisional and subject to furnishing proof of graduation.

Commitment to a Career in Media
Media  is a fast evolving industry.  The candidates who wish to enter this industry must equip themselves with  significant domain expertise and other relevant skills to work, wherein one is at her/his competitive best.  Yet commitment to ethics and social values must not be compromised.  SSCMS seeks students inspired towards a career in media who have a high degree of curiosity, interest, risk appetite and a passion for truth.  Those with an exposure or experience to the media industry will have an advantage.

Life Experiences & General Knowledge
Due consideration is given to an applicant's overall  life and work experiences that would be considered an asset for a professional in the media industry.  The one on one interview during the admission process will also focus on a candidate's General Knowledge and understanding of political issues both at the National and International  level.
