PUNARMILAN '07 Alumni Reunion

SSCMS alumni meet Punarmilan 2007 was held at the Art Of Living International centre on the December 22nd and 23rd . It was an event for our past students to rejuvenate, reminisce and retrospect their years since they left SSCMS.

On this occasion a seminar of eminent journalists of Bangalore was held to which students of other colleges were also invited. The Guest Speakers were Mr. Arekere Jayaraman – a Senior Journalist and commentator, who spoke on current trends in the field of journalism, Mr. R.K. Matoo – associate Editor the New Indian Express he spoke on ethical inference of broadcast journalism on print media, Ms. Maya Sharma senior Editor NDTV spoke on Scope of Journalism in Bangalore and Mr. Simon Varghese web journalist was a part of a very interactive panel discussion on “Role of Media in Creating Peace and Harmony”.

Post lunch session was an hour’s session by Kanchan Kaur an ex-faculty, with the alumni and the current students of SSCMS. Post dinner session saw the alumni and the SSCMS management in discussion about the current trends in journalism that can be incorporated into the existing system of education the session ended with the alumni rolling down with laughter as we played old documentaries and short capsules shot and edited by alumni during their student days.

The next day the alumni completely relaxed in the ashram environment with a yoga, breathing and meditation session followed by the screening of the movie “What the Bleep Do We Know Down the rabbit Hole”
